The official statement is as follows: *Barsuk Records is pleased to announce that we will be reissuing Death Cab For Cutie's classic 1998 debut album, Something About Airplanes, on November 25th. This limited deluxe 10 year anniversary CD edition will include a bonus disc featuring a recently unearthed recording of the band's first ever Seattle show. Morrissey Titles New LP, Reissues Classic

True To You reports: *Morrissey's new studio album 'Years Of Refusal' is now complete, and is set for a September release by Polydor UK. It has yet to be decided which Universal label will release the album in the US. 'Years Of Refusal' has 12 tracks and is produced by Jerry Finn. Prior to this, Sony BMG will issue a remastered version of 1995's 'Southpaw Grammar' in July. This album will include three previously unreleased tracks, and new artwork.*

The Magnetic Fields Ready Vinyl Reissues

H.O.T. reports: *The Magnetic Fields are readying the re-release of their catalog on full length 12" vinyl albums. Merge Records will start the run in May with "The Charm Of The Highway Strip," the band's 1994 Merge debut. Nonesuch Records will follow this summer with a pressing of "Distortion," the band's '08 release. This fall, Merge will release the vinyl edition of "Get Lost."*

Billboard reports: *On March 4, Whiskeytown's Strangers Almanac will be reissued as a double-disc deluxe edition. The newly expanded version will include previously unreleased Whiskeytown tracks plus several classic covers. The 1st disc includes the original album, produced by Jim Scott, plus five live public radio performances. Acoustic demo versions of "16 Days," "Avenues" & "Excuse Me While I Break My Own Heart" join seven previously unreleased Whiskeytown tracks, including "Kiss & Make-Up" and "10 Seconds". The band also tackles Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," Gram Parsons' "Luxury Liner," J. Cash's "I Still Miss Someone" & True Believers' "The Rain Won't"*

'The Joshua Tree' Gets A Facelift

Billboard's got the scoop: *To celebrate the 20th birthday of its landmark album "The Joshua Tree," U2 is reissuing the set in four different incarnations on Nov. 20 via UMe. The album will be available as a remastered single CD, a 2-CD set, a 2-CD/1-DVD collectible box and a double-vinyl package.

The single-disc will be housed in a jewel case, but the 2-CD set comes in a hard back case. The 2-CD/1-DVD version has a base and lid to accommodate the discs as well as five portfolio prints. Band members have contributed new liner notes for the package. Of most interest to fans is the inclusion of rare material on the expanded editions. Although details have yet to be announced, "Joshua Tree" demos, alternate versions and B-sides from the period are expected to appear. The DVD is understood to comprise a July 4, 1987, show at the Paris Hippodrome, as well as the documentary "Outside It's America." Produced by Brian Eno, "The Joshua Tree" shot U2's commercial fortunes into the stratosphere. The album's first three tracks were huge singles, with both "With or Without You" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.*

The Modern Lovers Get Re-Issued

The fine folks over at Sanctuary Group have just re-released The Modern Lovers' legendary eponymous debut record, which initially saw the light of day back in 1976. The American version of the re-issue includes eight (!) alternate cuts, including reinterpretations of classic tunes such as 'Roadrunner', 'Modern World' and 'Someone I Care About'. Sex Pistols To Re-issue 'Bollocks'

The legendary punk album (which just turned 30 years of age!) will be re-issued on 10/29 - UK only - on heavyweight vinyl, as the album was originally released, along with a 7" single of 'Submission'.

Sex Pistol aficionados may already know that 'Submission' was to be included on the original track listing for Never Mind The Bollocks... Here's The Sex Pistols, but was left out when the record was delivered to shops a week earlier than planned.

The band are also planning to re-release their 4 epic singles: 'Anarchy In The UK', 'God Save The Queen', 'Pretty Vacant' & 'Holidays In The Sun'.

Mew To Reissue Early Limited Edition Demo

*Finding rare tracks from the Danish group Mew is about to get a whole lot easier. After finally releasing their classic album Frengers here in the US, fans will soon be able to get their hands on the coveted 2000 LP Half The World Is Watching Me, which has been out of print since its year of release. Of course, only 5,000 copies of the original pressing were made, so there weren't many to go around.

For now, the reissue will only be available through their own Evil Office label on August 6, but it will be well worth the price of an import. It will include a second disc containing nine previously unreleased tracks, including demos, live tracks and studio cuts. With this reissue, plus a new album in the works, times are good for Mew fans!*
