'Choke' Director Explains Radiohead's Participation

We can finally put this one to bed. Here's what Clark Gregg had to say about the usage of 'Reckoner' in the film's closing credits: *Like most people, I'm a huge Radiohead fan. The adaptation took me years to write so I wrote it first to Kid A, then Amnesiac and then Hail To The Thief. Later, I learned from Chuck Palahniuk that he had written the novel while listening to their song "Creep". In Rainbows came out while we were editing and I used almost every track in my early temp cuts of the movie. They all fit really well, but I particularly loved "Reckoner". The tension between Thom Yorke's keening vocals and Phil Selway's brilliant, driving drum track fit so perfectly that it worked almost like score. I was truly dreading the day when we'd have to take it out. Somehow ATO Pictures producer, Johnathan Dorfman, persuaded their manager to show the band some footage and to our shock they were generous enough to let us use the song. It's a monumental addition to the movie.*

The soundtrack is out on 9/23.

Efterklang To Score Two Danish Plays

The band explains via MySpace bulletin: *We are proud to inform you guys that we have hooked up with Teater GROB - a Copenhagen based theater which sets up very nice plays on various stages! We will score the two plays they are setting up this fall. First one is "En Plads I Mit Hjerte" (A Place In My Heart) which premieres August 23rd at Kaleidoskop in Copenhagen. The second play is "Som Hos Dig Star". This one premieres November 17 2008 at PLEX (one of our favorite places in Copenhagen).* MP3 below.

She tells BBC: *"I felt a definite shift, it seemed to peak a lot of curiosity which luckily led back to an album and video I believe in. It just shows you the power of that kind of thing, as opposed to some preconceived marketing ploy. I was a little naive as to the impact it would have because I really didn’t have any idea it would be like that. But it did me nothing but favors because I’ve continued doing what I do, but with so many new open ears from so many more people than there were before. Once it came out and the response happened that’s when a little bit of apprehension kicked in. Ark Frontman To Play Lead In 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

The glam band explains via MySpace bulletin: *Ola Salo will write a new Swedish translation and will play the lead part in 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. On October 31st, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical will have its premiere at the Malmö Opera House. Directed by Ronny Danielsson and with Ola Salo in the part of Jesus.
