Muse Frontman Faced With Stalker

Yikes! Matt B. tells WENN: *"He's from Ireland and he keeps coming to where I live in Italy. And he keeps leaving bags full of crazy stuff, like loads of bottles with messages written on them. He's got loads of poetry that he has written, which is all about the end of the world. He's trying to create little bits of clues and puzzles that are all supposed to lead me to some kind of journey somewhere..."*

Muse Responds To Radiohead's 'Rainbows'

Drummer Dominic Howard had this to say to The Mirror: *“They’re (Radiohead) unsigned which means they are in a different position to us, so they can do whatever the hell they want it’s cool they did. Bands are constantly thinking of the best ways to release music and a band like that doing it on their own shakes up the record companies and helps them realise that they are gradually becoming more and more useless. It’s a great time for music and a great time for bands, but not for the record companies.”*

Brace Yourself For 'The Muse Cruise'

The Daily Star reports: *Stadium rockers Muse plan to stage some Supermassive 2008 gigs – on a boat. The Q Best Live Act can’t wait to get started on their plans after a year that’s also seen them bag a BRIT and a Vodafone Live Music Award. At the Q Awards, drummer Dom Howard, 29, told me:

“We’ve talked about a tour of the Mediterranean coast next year and doing gigs from a boat. We see ourselves rocking up to a port in a nice town, opening the back of the boat and doing the gig. Then closing it up and going off to the next town – touring by sea. Winning these awards has been great for us. In a way, it keeps us on our toes and under pressure to constantly up the ante. I’m a stadiums man at heart and our Wembley shows in the summer were overwhelming.

We had all this stuff going on videos, streamers, floating ballerinas attached to balloons. We always go for that big, over-the-top show because it’s what we want to see when we go to see a band. We love playing live, it’s an open arena to do what-ever we like and to let our imaginations go wild.”* Download an Absolution-era MP3 at bottom.

Muse Replacing White Stripes For ACL

The Tripwire's got all the dirt on the recent update: *Stop feeling anxious about finding out who is going to replace The White Stripes for their two Austin shows. (Stop spreading those Bjork rumors as well...she hasn't canceled.) NME is reporting that Muse is being bumped up into the headlining spot for Saturday at Austin City Limits, and they will also be playing Stubbs on Sunday. Originally both shows were supposed to be done by Jack and Meg, but all that changed when Meg fell ill with anxiety yesterday.*

Muse Fans Threaten Cafe Owner After Band's Food Poisoning

According to this report, members of Muse & My Chemical Romance got terribly sick following a visit to Glenn Gormley's Green Leafe Cafe while on tour in Virginia.

So sick, in fact, that the bands were forced to cancel several dates to recover from the food poisoning.

Since the incident, outraged fans have been leaving Glenn Gormley (owner) countless death threats. Gormley has gotten the police involved, where as the bands have gotten The Health Department of Virginia to conduct a full investigation of the establishment.

Yikes. This sounds like war.

Klaxons Turn Down Muse

Hmm, already too big for their own shoes? Or does somebody need to get the stick out of their collective asses?

MTV UK reports: Klaxons have revealed to MTV News they turned down the offer of supporting Muse at the new Wembley stadium. The "new ravers" can count the Devon rockers as huge fans - Muse recently said one of their favourite gigs of last year was a Klaxons gig - and it was after one of the new boys' shows that they made their exciting offer.

"It was the drummer who asked us," Klaxons singer and bassist Jamie Reynolds told us. "It was quite a drunken night down the pub and I just said, 'Nah'. I don't know why, I didn't mean it! "I have watched them from when they first started. I first saw them at Glastonbury and for them to say that (about one of our live shows) is a massive complement."

Singer James added, "(He) got the chance to open up Wembley stadium. Offically the first ever gig at Wembley and Jamie turned it down!" However the boys, who look set to get their first top ten hit this week with the 'Golden Skans', are hoping that the Muse boys haven't given up on them completely. "We haven’t turned it down officially and we're trying to sort it out," a sheepish Jamie said. "Please! We would love to play!"

Muse: We Heart New Rave!

NME reports: "New rave will save me," frontman Matt Bellamy told NME.COM. "I like the idea of going to a gig and getting a few glowsticks out. Klaxons are brilliant - I like the shift they have in their music." Drummer Dominic Howard also backed the band's ability to play like a rock band but inspire the rave vibes in their audiences.

"I saw the Klaxons and loved it," he said. "It was a weird audience because really it's a rock gig, the music's quite aggro, but the audience is very ravey, everyone's got glowsticks and horns and when they were playing it wasn't like a mosh. The whole crowd was dancing away, it was a really good vibe."
