Prefix reports: *Apparently the people at Capitol Records are on austerity. Reports of floors being littered with empty cups of Ramen and the remnants of condiment sandwiches are circulating around the record industry. Furthering this rumor is news that Interpol will be releasing a live DVD as part of a November 9th reissue of Our Love to Admire. The album that the band already released this year. So, they are releasing it again. But wait, this one comes with a DVD! So it’s totally different from the original album. That the band already released. This year. For those of you who MUST own everything Interpol however, you will be happy to know that the DVD is chock full of all of that measured, restrained charisma that makes the band spectacular live. Performances include: Pioneer, Narc, The Heinrich Maneuver, Mammoth, Slow Hands and Evil in addition to videos for The Heinrich Maneuver and No I in Threesome. All proceeds will go to the “Save the Record Industry” Fund.*Labels: interpol

You be the judge of this article lifted from Contact Music earlier this morning: *INTERPOL were forced to cancel a U.K. gig after a band member was struck down by a mystery illness. The group were due to play at the Newcastle Academy venue on Tuesday (21Aug07), but pulled out at the last minute. The band have so far failed to reveal the nature of the illness or which member it affects, but fans on the group's message boards suggest it was bassist Carlos Dengler.
Interpol drummer, Paul Fogarino, said the following (via Culture Deluxe) this past weekend: "Why I feel sorry for them is that we put out our first album Turn on the Bright Lights and we're fucking Joy Division reincarnated, and then the Editors appear and they're the British Interpol.
It doesn't sound like Editors frontman, Tom Smith, is a happy camper. Check out the following quotes, via Culture Deluxe regarding the band's much-discussed similarities with Interpol: "If you're a music journalist saying that then you're deaf and need a new job."Labels: editors, interpol, joy division
After an impressive first week sales tally here in the US for their latest album (and major label debut), Our Love To Admire, landing them at #4 on Billboard, Interpol has achieved the same feat across the pond, claiming the runner-up spot on the latest edition of the UK album charts. The rest of the top 10 shapes up like this:
