Calvin Harris Apologizes For Poor Dance Moves

He declares via MySpace blog entry: *I'm sure some of you caught the acoustic performance of "Dance Wiv Me" at Glastonbury, which, in turn, means you almost certainly witnessed my "Dad Dancing" on live television. Now, sometimes I do wonder why I place myself in these situations, but if you're asked to go on the BBC to do a song with Dizzee you can't say no. What would YOU do?! Of course the problem with this is my "singing" parts of the song amount to all of thirty seconds, leaving me with a full three minutes of, well, dad dancing. It's clear that I can't dance, we all know that, look at the facts: Scottish, white, 6 foot 5, awkward in social situations. I could go on. So don't slate the dad dancing, celebrate that it happened, laugh, enjoy it, tell your friends...* MP3 at bottom.

Calvin Harris/Dizzee Rascal Duet Hits #1 In UK

CH shares his excitement with the following message: *YEAH! Me and Diz have made #1 in the UK charts this week, so thanks to everyone who bought the record ('Dance Wiv Me'), we definitely appreciate it! Slightly frustrated with those who think I just sang the hook... I made the beat of course! But never mind, I'm made up that Dizzee is number one, I've been buying his records for many years so it's an honour to be the man who helped realise his full pop potential!* Visit Calvin Harris at his MySpace page.

Calvin Harris @ Bowery: Stepping Out In Black & White

Let me take the time to profess my undying love for the Scottish it-boy before I continue with this review. I simply adored his eight song mini-set last September at Mercury Lounge, I was highly amused by his witty/charming responses to my '8 Questions With' session & I maintained my respect for Calvin when he allowed Germany's Next Top Model to feature one of his tunes ('Acceptable In The 80s') in their promotional campaigns. With that in mind, I can honestly admit that last night's gig felt somewhat disappointing.

For the first half of the 60-minute show, Calvin seemed apathetic to the overwhelming response he received from the sold out crowd. There was an obvious disconnect between the fanatical attendees and Calvin's overall demeanor. I'm not sure if he's grown tired of performing his debut LP (I Created Disco) or if something was lurking underneath the surface but regardless of the reason, sparks didn't fly until Calvin started toying around with his brilliant new tracks ('Jerusalem' & 'Back Door'). From that point onwards, the gig was gold. The closing trio of 'Vegas', 'I Created Disco' & 'The Girls' was nothing short of magical. Enjoy more photos, the full setlist & an MP3 below. Calvin Harris: Car Theft, Dizzy Rascal, The Ting Tings

Here's a snippet from his most recent MySpace bulletin:

*Yesterday my car got broken into. This is what they stole:

-Kings Of Leon's 'Because Of The Times' CD
-a Milkybar :'(
-Outkast's 'ATLiens' CD
-Pharrell's 'In My Mind' CD

[In other news], I finished my song with Dizzee Rascal a couple of days ago, I'm WELL happy with it, can't wait for it to come out, it should surface in a month or so. Also I remixed a song by 'HOTLY TIPPED MANC DUO' Ting Tings last week, which I am equally happy with!*
