8 Questions With: Calvin Harris

Now we love him even more (if that is possible). Our full interview with Mr. Harris can be enjoyed below.

1. First things first, what are your thoughts on Mr. LCD Soundsytem himself, James Murphy, seeing as many critics have incessantly paired the two of you alongside one another in recent months?

I am a huge fan of James Murphy, the only reason lazy music critics compare us is because i have a song that goes 'my house' a lot, and he did it first. Musically we sound nothing like each other. I really want to do a song with him though.

2. You and Jamie T in a boxing match - who comes out on top?

I think Jamie T definitely, any kind of fighting and i'm always gonna lose.

3. Did you catch Britney's VMA performance? What are your thoughts on her potential comeback?

It made for great TV, but it was quite upsetting to see how wasted she was up there, i'm not a huge fan of watching other people's personal trauma, i don't think it should be any different for Britney.

4. Not counting your own, what are some of your fave records of '07?

Kings Of Leon officially became my new favourite and this year, The Clipse album is a masterpiece, and Dizzee Rascal's album got many repeated plays.

5. If you were to choose some of your favorite classic disco tracks, which would you select? Do you have as much love for Donna Summer as we do?

I'm not that into it, i prefer the more soulful disco songs rather than the electronic side. Things like Unlimited Touch - I Hear Music In The Street and T-Connection - Do What You Wanna do. I am a big fan of disco songs with piano in them.

6. Tell us the best and worst thing about present-day Scotland.

Where i live, i like the scenery, but i dislike the seagulls.

7. Oddest fan encounter?

I stopped for some fish & chips after a gig in Bournemouth, and two girls came up to me. While i was chatting to one of them, the other one was quietly stealing my chips and putting them in her handbag.

8. Thanks for your time. Any parting words and/or slutty advice for our readers?

It's nice to be nice.
