dolly review, etc

ok, so, let me just tell you that dolly parton was FANTASTIC LAST NIGHT! she told story after story, cute as a button and played all the hits... '9 to 5' and 'jolene' were songs #2 and 3, wasting no time. she also did about 6 cover songs... apparently her new album will be all covers. she sang everything from 'me and bobby mcgee' to 'climson and clover' to friggin bob dylan! i have been converted. oh i also saw: john cameron mitchell, kiki (from kiki & herb), AUSTIN SCARLETT from project runway (oh yes), and kyan from queer eye. dolly is fagtastic!

Speaking of other shows that remind me just how gay I really am.... in the past 30 days i've also seen...

the scissor sisters... secret show under the pseudonym 'megapussi'... half first album/half new stuff. here's jake during 'laura' and ana during 'mary'... more songs about popular girls names on the next cd, i'm sure!









antony and the johnsons... oh my god, what a beautiful show. i also saw them at the bowery earlier this year when special guests boy george and rufus wainwright showed up to sing w/ antony... but this show at the (lovely) town hall was just friggin perfect. miss modern age has a good review up... but here's a cute photo of antony that i DIDN'T take :)



i'm seeing sufjan stevens on saturday.. one night in his 3294737489 night run at the bowery ballroom... can't wait!
