Foals frontman, Yannis Philippakis, explains the choice of location to BBC: *Hawaii because we want to enjoy ourselves and we are great believers in the environment around you having an effect on the kind of music you make. I think if we are somewhere sunny & relaxed, it'll be a good environment to make a record. In order to progress, we have got to try & allow new influences in.*

Foals Select Last FM Remix Contest Winner

The band shares the following words regarding their selection process: *We listened to just about every single remix in the competition, and this was, I think the best. What I like about it is how, well, I guess just how it doesn't sound like your usual boring blog style electro remix. Without wanting to get all Wire magazine on it, they've broken down the pop structure, fractured it if you will and let everything else disintegrate and seep through. Foals @ Union Hall: This Fuel Called Love

Thursday evening marked the final and smallest (venue capacity: 125) gig on Foals' North American spring tour. The 50-minute set included a majority of tunes from their debut LP, Antidotes, alongside non-album favorites such as 'Hummer' & the majestic show closer, 'Mathletics'. Excessively loud, rowdy and feral, the entire production was easily the most intense experience I've ever had at Brooklyn's hotspot, Union Hall. If their first-ever US gig was electrifying & their Bowery premiere was brilliant, then my third episode with Foals could simply be described as tremendous.
