Daniel Radcliffe Hearts Bloc Party

Since it is officially Harry-Potter-hysteria day/night all across the globe, I figured it'd be appropriate to list Daniel Radcliffe's favorite acts, as revealed in this month's Details magazine.

Who tops his list, you ask? Why, The Hold Steady, of course. Of the group, Dan says: "The best band this year by far". Others include Bloc Party, The Others, Art Brut, The Strokes & The Cribs.

He also declared that his 'lifetime ambition' would be for the Libertines to sing him happy birthday. A lofty dream, indeed.

Daniel Radcliffe Wants To Play Bowie

The Harry Potter megastar bares his soul to SciFi magazine in its latest issue.

"I think musical theater can be spared my talents," says Radcliffe with tongue and cheek. Other than that? "I don't know... I'm not sure really. Anything. I mean, it's very hard to say I would like to play this kind of part, because...there are great parts in any genre. I mean, there are people, I suppose, I would want to play.... If there was ever a..... biographical film about David Bowie,... that would be an amazing thing, to be able to play David Bowie. But... he's not dead yet, and... hopefully he won't be for a long time, and so I think it's a bit hasty to think of that. But, I mean, anything, basically, I'd like to do. Anything that's challenging.... Anything that's going to test me I would like to do, I think."

The Summer of Potter

It was announced today that the final installment of the Harry Potter book series will be released on July 21st. Along with this announcement, JK Rowling has revealed that two characters in the series will die.

Might I suggest following my lead and reading all of the books again in anticipation of the final release. If you haven't read the books, here's your chance to get into one of the greatest book series of a generation.

In other Potter news, did anybody see Extras this week with Daniel Radcliffe? Hilarious. The part where he flings his "johnny" onto Dame Diana's Riggs's head is genius.

Master Radcliffe is also getting a lot of buzz this week because of his very steamy (and nakey) portrayal of a stablehand in the West End play Equis. I have no comment about this.
