Frontman Yannis Philippakis tells The Independent: *Some people want to write songs so they can go to these ceremonies or hang out with new cool people, but for us anything that isn't about writing music is extraneous to what we are doing this for. We have never come out and said that we are the band for 2008 – that we are going to save culture or kill the president – but all we did was go to NYC, got stoned & made a weird record.*
