Daft Punk Readies Live Album + Fan-Directed Video

Yay! It seems as if the Daft Punk roller coaster will not reduce speed simply because the band's international tour is coming to an (unfortunate) end later this year. Billboard.com shares news that the robotic French duo is planning to release a tour LP, highlighting the June 14th gig in Paris, due out this November.

Of the evening, Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter declares: "We're from Paris and we hadn't played there for 10 years. It must have been a special night for the audience, as well as for us." Additionally, Billboard is reporting that the first single lifted from the as-of-yet untitled album will be for the Kanye West-sampled tune, 'Harder Better Faster Stronger'. The video for the track will feature footage shot by fans at the instantly classic Keyspan Park show in Brooklyn last week (view my photos from that evening here).

Thomas discusses the idea behind the clip: "It is a montage of people shooting the song in the audience with 250 cameras. We were inspired by the Beastie Boys' 'Awesome, I F***in' Shot That!' and tried to do that in a four-minute video." His reaction to the entire Alive 2007 tour: "We pretty much felt it everywhere, which was fascinating. It was a big deal each time. It's a big deal for us each time, too, which is what keeps it fresh."
