*Antony's The Crying Light (April 3-6, 2008)

Commissioned by St. Ann's Warehouse, the new work from choreographer Antony (of Antony and the Johnsons) is "a new song cycle that revolves around polarities – male and female, life and death, darkness and light." Using "an off beat ensemble of vocals, strings, acoustic guitar, percussion and piano," The Crying Light features a score and lyrics written by Antony, in collaboration with composer/arranger, Nico Muhly.*
