Sigur Ros Split Miami In Two

A few months back, I warned you that Sigur Ros was headed to Miami. Why, you ask? Well, to re-celebrate and re-create Merce Cunningham's 'Split Sides' (experimental dance) project, of course! Featuring unrehearsed original music from Radiohead and, obviously, Sigur Ros!

Unlike the first performance of the show, at BAM, Radiohead didn't make an appearance this time (in the UK recording LP7), but Sigur Ros did and we hear it was amazing. For those curious, Radiohead's 20-minute track was played via a CD recording of the Brooklyn show, 3 years back.

The accompanying shot and review from a poster at the Sigur Ros boards:

the show was great. music for both sigur ros + radiohead was fantastic. the dancing was pretty cool too. my favorite part came during 'Di Do' because throughout the entire performance, there were dancers coming in + out from backstage, but during 'Di Do', they all came out + just started going crazy. they were all doing the same moves, but this was different. it was like each + every one of them were in a trance + some sort of magic had them moving the same way. in other words, they were out of tune, but all in sync + it was amazing. i'm happy for all of you who were able to make it. by the way, the opera house is phenominal!

Iceland's finest will be at Carnegie Hall tonight to perform one song for the Tibet House benefit show. If you're going, please let us know how it is, and which song the guys choose to play! (I just couldn't justify spending $75 for this show, even if it is for charity and Sigur Ros will be there, as I was highly disappointed the last time around).
