For blokes playing dance music and wearing track jackets, they sure are serious.
I arrived to Mercury Lounge last night not knowing many of
Fujiya & Miyagi's tracks, just knowing that I had to see them. F&M are the pied pipers of musicphiles.
Fujiya started off with a slower song infused with deep vocals and from there absolutely raised the roof with euro-clash, electronica, dance music that when I looked out over the crowd, had every person grooving (including yours truly front and center).

As was the case with Monday's The Automatic show, I honestly felt truly lucky to be there last night. It was just so fun and so brilliant. I don't think anybody could have asked for a better set. And those little euro rapper (I stole that term from the BV commenters by the way) hand movements that Fujiya throws without abandonment are, well I dunno, flipping great.
The bloggerati were out in full force last night. Those in attendance:
BrooklynVegan,
Jerry Yeti,
Punk Photo, Wes for
ProductShopNYC and
Water Cooler Gossip,
Slap You in Public and Cameron of
Disco Nap and
'Sup Magazine.
MusicSnobbery and
Soundbites caught F&M's Sunday show.
