Arcade Fire Frontman Belted In Face At Nottingham Gig

Yikes! NME reports: *Arcade Fire's Win Butler was hit in the face by a bottle during last night's (October 31) gig in Nottingham. The band, who were dressed in Halloween costumes (pictured), were playing 'Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out)' when he got hit. Butler changed the lyrics to: "Where'd you go? / No seriously/ Where'd you go you fucker?" The band went off stage and returned for a performance of 'Rebellion (Lies)' and, according to a witness, "someone threw something again". Butler stopped playing for a second time and told the audience: "We''ll never play Nottingham again" before continuing with the song.*

Yeah i was there last night, i drove up from birmingham to the nottingham arena and they were amazing, i mean to have that much energy every night, gig after gig, but everyone knows that.... anyway so yeah some dickhead threw pretty much a full plastic bottle and hit Win around the neck/chest and he obviously got pissed, finished the song and led the band off but i think that was for the encore. They came back on and performed the encore with all the energy of before but Win looked pissed right until the end. Someone else threw an empty bottle but was way off target and Win said that if anything else was thrown that they would never perform in nottingham again which is understandable. The people in Nottingham cant be blamed for one idiot, but the crowd was quiet and shit apart from the from standing area and the band deserve better so if they dont perform there again then good for them. Yeah, I was there too. AMAZING in one word. One of the best gigs ive been to and one of the best bands live. Im from near nottingham and whoever threw the bottle, I hope they realise the whole band, who you paid to see, along with everyone at the gig now hates you. Its unacceptable that someone did that and Win had every right to storm off in protest and give the middle finger to the section of the crowd where it came from.

I was there also, and this person calls themself a fan? nothing but a loser in my eyes,if i was win i would have stopped the gig there and then.
But the band are better than that and rose above it thats why they are on the stage and the scum who did this are watching, if this person was next to me i would have punched him in the face and led him to the exit, this band put in all there hard work of setting up, singing making the effort for our enjoyment to be treated like that.
Just a total W@?&$r.
But on a lighter note this was my first time seeing the band and i was taken in big time stage present, energy and totaly unique and original.

Was near the front and want to throttle the tw£t, that was my 8th show at the arena and have never seen anything like that! It made me hate Nottingham for a few hours and feel embarrased to have lived there! They were great live, just that c*nt had to put a dampener on! At least I got some good pics when he walked past me in the crowd, maybe he was looking for the idiot!
