Jack White Lashes Out Against Journalists
"Before you knew it, people thought we wouldn't touch a piece of equipment unless it's 60 years old! It gets to the point where you're answering questions based on a joke somebody made."
"Anytime I pick up a music magazine, I assume 90 percent of it is incorrect, so I make up my own things to believe. Everyone knows the phrase 'Don't believe everything you read,' but how many people actually practice it?" (photo via WSL)
Jack did not have any comments on bloggers, interestingly enough.

Hate to say it, but I think he could use some added bodies on his future tours...it's real easy for his trademark fuzz sound to become unlistenable live, and as a matter of fact most of their live stuff is downright horrible. Instead of bashing journalists, look for a bass and organ player Jack. Studio, it doesn't matter...he and meg can rehash millions of takes until they get it right, but when it comes to live, get some more hands bro.
Anon, you are way off base! When I saw Jack and meg in Mtl, Jack was phenominal!! Guitar with one hand, keyboard with the other, never losing a note! The man is a GOD!
I agree with XIII, but listening to Paris '07 and I gotta agree with anon...they Icky Sucked.
So he's essentially complaining that people take him at his word. Yeah Jack, it really sucks when you tell people something and then they print it as though they assume not everything out of your mouth is a joke.
Naaah,
As a publicist, I know exactly what he's talking about. Music journalists essentially just re-type whatever press releases come through their channels. Its not that they are "taking him at his word" its that their job is so passive that its literally a joke. They are essentially just another tentacle of a labels marketing dept, only that you pay for it, and its taken as gospel... do YOU believe marketers?
