Noel Gallagher Hearts Johnny Marr

"I remember seeing The Smiths on Top Of The Pops, and I don't mean this in a sycophantic way, but I wanted to be Johnny Marr.
"He had the Brian Jones haircut, the turtleneck, and the big red semi-acoustic guitar and he was cool as fuck."
Still is Noel, still is.

how the hell can you have a programme titled '7 ages of rock' and not once mention radiohead? i was expecting thom & co. to at least be a footnote in last nights series closer, but....nothing?!
i might have guessed though. as entertaining as it was, the programme was rather selective with its facts from the very beginning. we shouldn't complain though - amidst all the cookery/reality/soap opera bollocks, there are rarely any decent music programmes broadcast.
I couldn't believe the La's weren't even namechecked nor the weight given to Suede and the Libertines, it was all a London view of the indie world rather than an objective one
