KCRW Gets Half Million Dollar Grant

I guess mornings will be staying eclectic indefinitely, which, we have no problems with whatsoever. Hands down, the two best American-based internet radio stations out there are WOXY (based out of Cinci) & KCRW (based out of Santa Monica).

HITS is reporting that KCRW has been awarded a $600,000, three-year grant from the Annenberg Foundation to develop business models to sustain the station’s webcasting activities and to further its online music service.

Believe it or not, KCRW averages close to 2 million live streaming hours per month and its on demand audio/video service received close to 500k hits in January alone. That combined with 1 million podcast downloads and it's safe to say that KCRW will remain a driving force behind internet radio for many years to come. Hallelujah!
