Is The US Finally Embracing Festivals?

With the recent annoucement that Coachella has sold out (2 months in advance!), a highly impressive line-up at this year's Sasquatch! Festival, and now some news that Bonnaroo has very very limited tickets available (that will probably be all gone by the beginning of March), it seems as if Americans have finally started to welcome 'musical jamborees'.

Of course, one reason for the increased ticket sales could be the amazing line-ups this year (The Police, Arcade Fire, Bjork, reunions of Jesus & The Mary Chain, Rage Against The Machine, etc), but another could be the whole 'bang for your buck' adage. While Police tickets are running $50-$200+ each on their respective tour spots, Bonnaroo (which will feature Sting, Stewart and Andy) ticket prices range from $150-$215 depending on time of purchase and include a bevy of other bands in addition to the 'Roxanne' hitmakers.

Americans, will you be headed west/south this spring for any of the aforementioned mass gatherings?

Europeans, how are we doing? Would you still rather be at T In The Park?

I am impatiently waiting for the Lollapalooza lineup, even though they keep adding throughout the summer. It should be out within the next few weeks! If it looks anything like Coachella, I'll be happy.
