Anti-War Song By Unsigned Band To Reach Top 10!

This is why I heart the UK.

Via NME: An anti-war song by an unknown band looks set to crash into the UK singles chart this weekend. A cover of Edwin Starr's 'War (What Is It Good For?)' has been recorded by a band named after Tony Blair's student group Ugly Rumours.

Organisers of a recent London peace march urged supporters to order the song via their mobile phone. Ben Grey, who produced the track, told BBC News: "We wanted to try and reach the people who might be more into watching 'X Factor' than listening to politics. Marches and rallies can be dismissed and ignored but a hit record will mean everyone is talking about this issue."

The song now looks set to enter the Top Ten following chart rule changes at the start of the year which allow digital sales to count towards a chart position.

Brits, take this to #1! Lord knows in the US, this would (sadly) barely crack the Top 100, much less the Top 10.
