Kasabian - Empire Review
It's true that this sophomore effort lacks the pizzazz of the self-titled debut, but it's still a damn fine record. Kasabian has earned the right to be cocky by releasing another solid album, from start to finish. The 39 minutes that make up Empire are indeed brilliant and entertaining. The band has decided to try to balance out the 'rockers' with some ballads and a bit of experimentation on the new release.
Had this album been 70+ minutes long (I'm talking to you, Be Here Now!), I think my thoughts on the album would be much different. However, this long-player deserves the same attention that you gave their debut. I promise it's worth your time. Why would we lie to you?

You are kidding right...come on! that album is poor and im seriously worried about your judgment if you think otherwise. i can't believe you got 39 minutes into it...i could barely get through half without wanting to rip my ears off of my head. i HATE this album.
calm down...aubrey
Empire is quite an exciting listen. Took time to grow on me, but it has, and it's nuances have convinced me. It's a fine record.
Maybe not the Best of 2006, but certainly one of the top 30.
hate to say it, but i have got to agree with the first comment...went to the show last night and all the old stuff got a good reaction, but the new stuff fizzled. i dont think this album is up to par with the old one at all.
