Scissor Sisters @ Siren Festival: Just Nod If You Can Hear Me!
Whoa! Siren Festival.. time to hire a new soundperson! The music stopped not once, but TWICE for the beloved Scissor Sisters last night in Coney Island. Both at the same exact point of their new single 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing'. To make up for the lack of sound (which ate up 10 minutes of their set), the sisters danced, shook some tambourines, and err, stripped! By the last 2 songs Jake was down to his red-banded grey CK briefs. Seriously, that was it.
They closed the set strongly with 'Filthy/Gorgeous' and 'Music Is The Victim' back to back. Ana was her usual chatty self throwing down comments and tirades about Con Edison (appropriately enough), the lack of good places to dance in NYC and um, how she wished LSD was back in style rather than coke.
Her glittery blue dress and high heels were fabulous. We're kinda glad Jake pranced around half-naked the latter half of the show because The Music Slut was defintiely NOT feeling his Richard Simmons-esque glittery muscle-T. Nice try though! We still love ya Jake!
Definitely one of the best, if not, THE best Siren headliner since its inaugural year.

oooh..what did miss ana have to say about Con Ed? we havent shocked anyone in at least a few months!
you know, the usual, mother F this mother F that.. she was real pissed about the sound problems!
how was stars?
hope she didnt blame coned for the sound problems...its not like any other parts of coney island had problems.
i weaseled to about 4 rows back for Stars. their material is solid so it was overall a good show, but sound was off and seemed a bit sloppy; also would have liked to hear more from Heart, and an encore would have done much to leave a better impression.
