It's About Time!
Seems like Jeff Buckley's life will be witnessed through a biopic in the very near future! Such exciting news. That and the Ian Curtis film (Did they finally secure Jude Law?) are at the top of my list for 2007 must-sees.Anybody who dares to tell me that Grace isn't one of the best albums of all time is just insane. Flawless beauty.
Here's the original Leonard Cohen version of 'Hallelujah' which Jeff covers ever so gracefully (mind the pun) on his 1994 debut.

I love Jeff Buckley, and I'm excited by this...
...or I would be, if I wasn't so scared about the way the Buckley cash machine rolls on. I mean, some of the stuff they've released posthumously has really been scraping the bottom of the barrel. Should've left it at Grace, Sketches, and maybe a couple of really tip-top live records at most.
I really hope they don't fuck this one up.
(Listening to Henman vs. Federer at the moment - now that's exciting sport... Henman doesn't have a chance, I reckon, which is a pity...)
agreed completely skye!
so much posthumous crap.
Nothing against Jeff Buckley- but why do all his fans refuse to acknowledge that Buckley covered John Cale's version of Cohen's Hallelujah? Although Cohen wrote all of the various lyrics, the set of lyrics performed by Cale- and quite frankly, the Cale "style" much more than the Cohen "style" as well- are what has been covered by Buckley and everyone else.
update: brad pitt to play buckley??
