I think Matt has already summed it up quite well how we felt about
The Hourly Radio last night. I'd just like to make a comment though about how much this band has evolved in my opinion. Their live show has really been perfected from the lighting, that Matt mentioned, to their brilliant and professional performance. I was taking a look at
my old photos of the group when they opened for Stellastarr* back in March, and even their appearance has become sharper (hello Aaron Closson!). Practice really does make perfect, and these guys certainly have put in the hours during their Dallas residency the past couple of months. While their Bowery opening gig was the performance of a band just getting aquainted with playing in front of people, last night was that of a well-oiled machine spewing fantastic dancey, dark, rock.
