Sondre Lerche @ Bowery: 150 Minutes of Norwegian Bliss
It was insane. He opened with a set of songs from 'Duper Sessions' sprinkled with a lil' bit of 'Two Way Monologue' and 'Faces Down'. Included in the opening numbers was 'Modern Nature', which the crowd gleefully sang along to, as per usual for his NY shows.
He then performed a brand new yet-to-be-recorded album in its entirety! And it's fucking amazing! It seriously sounds like Ryan Adams' 'Rock N Roll' LP mixed with some We Are Scientists and even doses of Pavement. Crazy! Nothing like any of his other work, whatsoever.
After that was complete, he did a collection of his 'greatest hits' which of course, sounded beautiful as always. Sondre was visibly tired during the last few songs and even skipped out on his much-discussed 'conversation amongst Norwegians', referring to him and his band, the Faces Down.
Throughout the night there were many hecklers (or maybe just one extremely loud one) making requests and telling Sondre that he was beautiful, which of course prompted Sondre to have a running James Blunt joke all night long. It was adorable, as you can imagine. I haven't a clue where these shouters came from. At every other Sondre Lerche show I've seen the crowd is super respectful and the only words you'll ever hear are girls (and boys) whispering about how cute Mr. Lerche is. Bizarre.
Back to the Bowery tonight for South!

Ooh that show was awesome...and it lasted seemingly forever...which was cool except my friend was sick and I felt bad for her. >__<
