I'll even accept Maxwell's as an answer, despite it being in
If you dare give a reason why a venue is either the best or the worst, or both and we like your answers the best... here are your prizes!!!

webster hall - dance club turned music venue for profit, sound system blows, drink prices are outrageously high and the security and door guys are meatheads out to harass people.
good call nghia, keep 'em comin!!
worst: roseland
why: horrible location; long, narrow sightlines; band always feels so distant; sound is poor if youre more than halfway back; performers have often already played the same tour set at better NYC venues; STOPPED SERVING QUIZNOS downstairs
redeeming factor: never a line for their massive bathroom
i hate roseland too, probably even more than webster.
haven't been there in ages...
Best: Bowery - sounds good, good size
Worst: Continental - has always sucked and Trigger is an ahole.
best venue is the Knitting Factory. Several shows every night, the only decent all ages venue in the city. Great booking. And the rooms are small enough that you can see the stage anywhere.
