Crazy Karen #2 (and the rest of the YYYs)

Saturday was the return of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! Well, they did 2 shows prior to this final Bowery date (one at Maxwell's and a Friday night show at the Bowery; both of which Miss Modernage covered with great zeal) but this was the one that 2 of your sluts attended, and loved start to finish.

I must first point out that because I'm lazy and was fearful of having my camera confiscated, I neglected to take any shots. Jen has some coming but these particular ones I'm highlighting have been stolen from Dan Fun. He has plenty more for your viewing pleasure over on his site.

The show was incredible. Karen's dress was as you could've predicted, completely original and made you question everything.

They opened with the new single "Gold Lion" which was truly amazing, the guitar in that song is pure heaven. They rip roared through a set that included mostly new stuff from Show Your Bones but they threw in "Art Star" and "Y Control" for good measure. The latter of which got everyone jumping up and down, rare feat at a NYC show (we only dance to LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, !!! and YYYs... it's sad but true).

After the main set was complete they came back out and tore into "Maps" which Karen dedicated to all the motherfuckers she loves: us. It was flawless. They then did a new track and ended with a kick-ass version of "Tick".

Karen then threw her mike down and the show was complete.

I can't wait to have Show Your Bones in my little hands!
