Final Fantasy Remixes Stars
Last month we told you about a remix album of Stars' brilliant '05 release, Set Yourself On Fire, officially out in May. The project, entitled Do You Trust Your Friends? features a myriad of remixes, all done with precision and grace.As you might have imagined, after an advance listening to the full record, my favorite remix is the one Final Fantasy has generated for Set Yourself On Fire opening track, 'Your Ex-Lover Is Dead'.
Complete with violin, piano, and more than a handful of whim, Owen Pallett's take on the Stars track is delightful, airy and phantasmic - giving it a sort of ballroom dance vibe which I adore. my fave final fantasy remix will always be the dfa1979 one! but this is pretty sweet as well.
Beautiful! Though from the string arrangement it sounds like he has listened to the Amelie soundtrack a few times.

this is so gorgeous! The original track was pretty enough... but the melodies in FF's rework here are simply beautiful.
