The View: The Next Big Thing Or More NME-Buzzed Crap?

The View have been making quite the name for themselves throughout 2006, thanks in part to some manic Brit buzz (what else is new?). With a handful of EPs under their belt, the band has been featured numerous times in NME and Q, and even had a supporting slot next to Babyshambles earlier this year.

Musically, they sound like a punk version of the Kooks. That, combined with a heavily influenced Libertines sound (with an unusual love for ample harmonicas). With each band member under 20, I think it'd be fair to say that opening for Pete Doherty-fronted Babyshambles was probably a dream come true to the boys.

The Scots make their first (and only scheduled) stateside appearances @ Mercury Lounge on 1/2 and 1/3. See you there!
