The Music Slut

3.3.06

that Friday feeling...

First up, it's all over the web, but goddammit I like it (and obviously there are dedicated sluts out there who only check our site, aren't there...)

Madonna - Sorry (Pet Shop Boys Maximix)

It's fracking awesome. That is all I have to say about that, since Madge doesn't need our help to flog a few 'units', as records seem to be known these days (although the Pet Shop Boys might).

Okay so right now I'm having a listen to Track a Tiger's Glad to be Scattered, taken from their record Woke up Early the Day I Died and released by Future Appletree Records. I'm not sure I get the name, but I think I get the music; it's got a lovely Reindeer Section-esque feel to it; it's nice and gentle, and there's lots of lovely strings on it, but most especially there's a kind of breathiness to songs like Seashaken Heart that reminds me of Gary Lightbody. What they offer on top of the RS is a gorgeous boy/girl melodies, kind of the anti-Sons & Daughters as it were. Download these tracks and see what you think:

Track a Tiger:
Sound as Ever
Glad to Be Scattered
Seashaken Heart

Oh, and they have a myspace you can visit!

Cut 'n' pasted from their website:

The CD is available at www.futureappltree.com, local record stores, CD Baby, iTunes (real soon) and you local indie record store through Carrot Top Distribution.

I was going to blog the same thing last night! I really like Track a Tiger, reminds me a lot of Damien Rice actually.
